Hird Sales has heard about plans for exciting new Oil&Steel access platforms at a dealers open day.
The company was part of an invited audience of 50 European dealers and guests at the event held in Modena, Italy.
Organised by parent company Manitex International, it gave senior executives from Oil&Steel the opportunity to talk about business plans and product launches.
Strong product development
Counterparts from sister company Valla Cranes were also on hand to brief their dealers about their exciting product developments.
Carl Cooper, Sales and After-Sales Manager for Hird Sales, who attended the open day, said: “It was a very useful event and gave us a preview of new products coming onto the market.
“The slogan, Let’s Go Higher, was apt for Oil&Steel and for Valla Crane because both companies will be launching new larger machines.
“It’s good for us and for our customers to know that both manufacturers are confident about the future and pressing ahead with a strong product development strategy.”
New 30m OctoPlus spider on show
Hird Sales is the UK and Ireland authorised dealer for Oil&Steel truck mounted platforms and spider platforms and Valla pick and carry cranes.
Giovani Tacconi, Managing Director of Oil&Steel and Vice-President of Manitex International, gave an opening presentation about company plans.
Marco Castiglione, Export Manager for Oil&Steel, was among other senior executives to give a presentation or meet dealers.
Carl Cooper said: “Oil&Steel has an exciting product development programme. We had a chance to hear about and see the new OctoPlus 30 in development.
“This is a 30m tracked spider boom lift that’s due to be available from the first quarter of 2025, with orders already placed for it. We’re looking forward to bringing the OctoPlus 30 to the UK market.”
Dealers also toured Oil&Steel’s research and development department and the company’s factory to see the sophisticated manufacturing processes used to build its market-leading access platforms.
